Am I supposed to FEEL older now that my grays are boldly making their presence? Well, this almost 68 year old feels younger! Why is that? I think because the skin tone and wrinkles were jones-ing for light and bright. Yes, I feel brighter, from the inside out. Wherever I go, the reactions are, "wow, love your hair!" So here is my Meryl Streep, "Devil Wears Prada" cut with a 2-week grow out. And.....
check out the rainbow of natural colors growing their little fool heads off. I've got dark brown, white, gray and everything in between.
When I first walked in the door from having the super-duper highlights and no root cover, my husband was in shock. He's known me since I was 6 - boyfriend/girlfriend at 12 and then I moved away for 49 years. His fond memories were of me with dark hair and dark brown eyes. All he could think was how he felt when seeing his mom turn 'blonde' trying to embrace the same idea. She also had dark hair and the drastic change shocked the hell out of him. Yep, that's immediately what he envisioned as I happily showed him my new hot exciting hair color, attitude and style. I'll try and demonstrate that us "old gray mares" can still be hot sexy wives!
Haven't changed the makeup yet and don't think it's necessary at this time. I love the Senegence line which blends 2 shades up or down. I make sure my eyes (which are now hazel-go figure!) stand out with browns, purples and garnet and my lips need color. My inside feels the need! Anyone else thinking about making a bold move like I did? Let me know! By the way, just this morning my husband said, "I'm getting used to your hair now - I like it". Thumbs up!
