Let's face it, we all see things from a totally different perspective, whether it's visual, soulful or mindful. Our technology and communication age has dulled our senses to the world around us and our crazy fast-paced lifestyle has allowed many of us little time for appreciation of the simple things around us everyday. I set an intention to be mindful of the beauty around me today and my walk turned into a meditative exercise with my camera. There were reflective drops of water sunning in the early morning light while mushrooms became mysterious looking making faces at me. A family of ants were chowing down on a dead locust while a few squirrels, delighted in their chase, stopped to check me out. I felt like we understood each other. Some of the flowers had lost their youth, yet they still had much beauty to show off - just like some of us who have been around a good number of decades, we still have our beauty, it just shines from a different and deeper place. When you stroll through my pictures, imagine yourself finding these jewels of nature simply along your path. You may open your eyes differently on your next walk and if my words and images have inspired you in any way, then my intention has been met!
